To be honest, all of the areas below are considered among the top choices – they are all just slightly different from one another.

You can hop on a bus and be basically anywhere on the island in no time at all. That includes the ferry terminal back to Malta.
So, you can explore various parts of Gozo with ease and return back to Victoria at the end of the day for your sleep. Victoria also has some major attractions like St. George’s Basilica with its signature dome that sits atop the city’s short skyline.
Most notably the beautiful Cittadella is a must-see place to explore high on the hill in the city centre. There is also lots of shopping, bars, and restaurants in Victoria.

The top attraction here is definitely the salt pans that line the rocky coast. This is where you can talk to Maltese families that still harvest sea salt the traditional way. You can even buy some to take home with you!
⇒ Check Here For Accommodations in Marsalforn
There are also lots of nearby hikes, bars, restaurants, and accommodations that are right on Marsalforn Bay. The seaside boardwalk is lovely for a stroll and there’s even a beach – Marsalforn beach – right at the waterfront.

If you can’t decide on where to stay between Marsalforn, Victoria, and Nadar, you can choose Xagħra! That’s because it’s right in the middle of all these three places.
Located inland on the island of Gozo, the village of Xagħra is known for one of the most famous attractions in all of Malta – the Ġgantija Neolithic temples.
These massive stone temples are thousands of years old. Eric visited the site when he was on Gozo and it was really cool to experience.
Because of the popular temples (and attractions like Xerri’s Grotto and Ta’ Kola Windmill), the village is well connected by bus to everywhere else on Gozo. You are also not too far from the north coast where – again – you can enjoy the sand at Ramla Bay Beach!
⇒ Check Here For Accommodations in Xagħra

San Lawrenz/Għarb – Diving & Views
Located at the northwest corner of the island, the small towns of San Lawrenz/Gharb feature some top attractions like the Inland Sea (great for swimming and boat tours), the Gharb Church, and much more.
This used to be a very popular area because it was home to the famous Azure Window (shown above). Sadly, this massive (and very important) rock formation collapsed a few years ago during a storm.
Visitors and locals still visit the site to see where it once stood out over the sea. In fact, it’s now a diving site and you can still do boat tours of the Gozo coast.
⇒ Check Here For Accommodations in the San Lawrenz/Gharb Area
This area is generally closer to the sea than some of the others so you get those coastal views you may be after. Of course, as with all place on Gozo, you still have easy bus/car access to the rest of the island of Gozo.

Last – but certainly not least – we have Nadur. Nadur is actually one of the largest areas on the island with a small, concentrated centre loaded with accommodations, restaurants, bars, etc.
Located at the south-eastern top of Gozo, Nadur is situated high atop a natural plateau on the island. This allows parts of the area to have sweeping views of the island below.
In some cases, you can see over Mgarr Harbour (where you catch the Gozo-Malta ferry) and all the way over the island of Comino and back to the main island of Malta.
Aside from the Mgarr Harbour itself, Nadur is about as close to the ferry as you can stay on Gozo.

The large area is also home to a number of things to do like checking out the views from Ta’ Kenuna Tower, exploring the Tal-Mixta Cave close to Ramla Bay, and relaxing at a number of beaches along the north coast like Daħlet Qorrot Beach or San Blas Beach.
